Book bank lines
Use “Book bank lines” in Recued. Tick bank statement lines that are not in your Ledger book yet and book them to one of your existing accounts in a single step.
Complete workflow
Use Month-end closer in Recued to bring your imported bank statement into your Ledger book once a month: book or match every line, check the books against the statement, explain what changed since last month, and close the month with a package for your accountant. It installs Ledger book and Bank statement import too; give both Read + write. It includes 13 built-in actions and 10 ready-to-run workflows. Actions that change data use Recued's approval controls.
You are viewing one recipe in this workflow. Installing it opens the complete pack so its other recipes and background automations arrive together.
Use “Records runtime” in Recued. It helps you complete this workflow using the connections and settings you choose.
Use “Link your bank account” in Recued. Tell Month-end closer, once, which Ledger book account your imported bank statement belongs to.
Use “Month to close” in Recued. See, for one month, which lines of your bank statement are already in your Ledger book and which are not yet.
Use “Match lines typed by hand” in Recued. Link bank statement lines to entries you already typed into your Ledger book, so the same money is never booked twice.
Use “Book as suggested” in Recued. Book bank statement lines to the account your earlier bookings or your AI model suggest, ticking only the suggestions you agree with.

Use “Suggest accounts with AI” in Recued. Ask your AI model which of your Ledger book accounts each new bank statement line belongs to, and keep its answers for you to review.
Use “Close the month” in Recued. Check your books against your bank statement's closing balance, then seal the month and copy a package for your accountant.
Use “Reopen a month” in Recued. Unseal a month you sealed so its lines can be booked, matched and explained again. Its figures are kept, so sealing it again takes one click.
Use “Explain the month” in Recued. See which income and expense accounts changed most since last month and what drove each change, written by you or suggested by your AI model.
Use “Month-end reminder” in Recued. On a schedule you choose, it tells you when last month isn't sealed yet, and when a month you sealed has changed since.
How to use it
- Pick the month, then choose the account the lines should go to: press Use this account beside it in the Your accounts table (or type its id, e.g.
supplies, and press Show). - Tick the statement lines that belong to that account — up to 30 at a time.
- Press Book ticked lines.
Each line becomes one entry in your Ledger book with two sides: your bank account moves by the line's amount, and the account you chose moves by the opposite. So a £19.99 card payment to a supplier books £19.99 out of the bank and £19.99 into supplies, and the entry balances by construction.
Only accounts you already have
The account must already exist in Ledger book, be open, use the same currency as your bank account, and not be the bank account itself. Anything else is refused and nothing is booked. Your open accounts are listed underneath, each with a Use this account button, so you pick one rather than type it.
All or nothing
⛔ The ticked lines are booked in one transaction: every one of them lands, or none does. There is no half-booked month to tidy up after a failure.
It cannot book a line twice
Each entry is named after the statement line it came from, so ticking a line that is already booked — from a second tab, or by pressing twice — books nothing new. Those lines are counted as skipped.
What it trusts
Only the ids of the ticked lines and the account you typed come from the page. The date, description and amount are read again from your imported statement at the moment of booking, so what is booked is what the bank said.
Lines you already typed in
A line you linked to an entry you typed into Ledger book yourself (see Match lines typed by hand) is already in your books, so it is not offered here.
A closed month
While a month is closed (see Close the month), nothing in it is booked or matched here; reopen it first.
